Yuchen Zhu (b. 2002, China) is a game designer and developer. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media Art from Beijing University of Technology in 2024 and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Design and Development of Digital Games at Teachers College, Columbia University.
My Story
In the first two decades of her life, Yuchen explored various creative fields, each offering a glimpse into what could be her life's pursuit. She loved math, participated in competitions, designed movie posters, and created trendy collectible toys. With every new endeavor, she sought meaning and fulfillment, yet something always felt incomplete.
It was through this journey of exploration that she discovered her true passion—game design. The limitless possibilities of virtual worlds captivated her, offering a space where creativity, storytelling, and player experience intertwine. More than just entertainment, she sees games as a medium to inspire courage, freedom, and love. Now, she is dedicated to crafting experiences that allow players to embark on their own meaningful journeys, just as she has in her own path toward game development.
